In a surprising turn of events, KSI found himself in disbelief after his face-off with Tommy Fury at Manchester's AO Arena during the Misfits event on Saturday night. Fury, known for being the brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, maintained his undefeated record as a professional boxer, boasting a perfect ten out of ten wins, which includes four knockouts.
However, the triumph was blemished by a controversial points decision. Fury was deducted a point, and the match concluded as a majority decision in his favor, even though he managed to land 12 jabs and 39 punches that found their mark. In comparison, KSI connected with 38 punches, leading to the deduction of a point for a rabbit punch.
Post-fight, KSI couldn't conceal his frustration, exclaiming, "It's a robbery! How many jabs did he land? I'm the YouTuber, you're the boxer, I get it, you have to win. I want to appeal." KSI, renowned as an influencer, professional boxer, and musician, arrived in style, driving up in a Lamborghini before bringing 'Giggs' onstage for a performance of "Talkin the Hardest."
During the opening round, 'The Nightmare' unleashed a straight right hand that appeared to catch Fury off guard amidst the electrifying atmosphere at AO Arena.
The second round saw Fury penalized with a point deduction for another headshot to KSI, further adding to the match's controversy.
KSI, who initially gained fame on YouTube before venturing into the world of boxing, displayed resilience and endurance as he delivered a combination of uppercuts and overhead rights.
In the third round, KSI was seen bobbing and weaving as the larger Fury started to assert himself, gradually finding his rhythm. The fighters engaged in clinches on several occasions in the following round, and both came close to unloading powerful right-hand shots. The match remained fiercely competitive, with KSI taking the inside approach at the onset of the fifth round.
As the bout reached its conclusion, KSI successfully maintained distance from Fury, convinced he had pulled off an unexpected victory as he celebrated in his corner. However, the judges delivered a split decision, with scores of 57-57 and 57-56 (in favor of Fury).
KSI, who had previously triumphed in his only other professional bout against Logan Paul, now adds one defeat to his record. His professional journey comprises a total of eight fights, yielding five wins, one draw, one no-contest, and this most recent setback.
