CAN SMITH SHOCK THE WORLD AGAINST BETERBIEV ??

Artur Beterbiev doesn't see himself as an intimidating figure, but perhaps he should. The unified light-heavyweight champion has consistently displayed his devastating punching prowess, stopping every opponent he has faced in his professional career. Even in tough situations, such as sustaining a severe cut against Marcus Browne or momentarily being hurt by Callum Johnson, Beterbiev has always found a way to secure victory within the distance.

With the IBF, WBO, and WBC light-heavyweight titles under his belt, Beterbiev is set to defend them against Smith, a former WBA super-middleweight belt-holder, at the Videotron Center in Quebec, airing live on Sky Sports Arena at 1 am on Sunday.

Despite his dominance in the boxing ring, Beterbiev refrains from labeling himself as the scariest man in the sport. "I try to do my job the best way I can," he states, emphasizing a focus on his strategies and preparation for 12 rounds during training camps.

While acknowledging a setback due to a jaw infection that required surgery and led to a fight postponement, Beterbiev assures that everything is now in good order. He believes in continuous training, including sparring, and maintains that his current condition is excellent.

Although Beterbiev has established his professional base in Canada, this upcoming fight with Smith marks a return home after unifying three belts in New York and defending them in London against Anthony Yarde. Despite the homecoming, Beterbiev remains unwaveringly focused on the task at hand.

"The out-of-ring atmosphere is the second part of my job," he reflects. While appreciative of the support from fans, Beterbiev's primary interest lies in the in-ring atmosphere, considering it more intriguing. He recognizes Smith as a formidable opponent, stating, "He's a good boxer, a good fighter, a good challenge for me. Like everyone, I try to be ready for this challenge 100 percent, as usual. We will see who is better when we step into the ring."
