Can AB win a world title ??
Adrien Broner, the former four-division world champion, made his much-anticipated comeback on Friday night, putting on a masterful display against Bill Hutchinson, whom he defeated by a ten-round unanimous decision at the welterweight division. After a two-year hiatus, AB looked like his old self, with his hand speed, power, and combination punching reminiscent of his best years from 2010-2012. The Miami Casino in Miami, Florida, was the venue for this exciting event, which saw Broner easily outbox his comeback opponent.
Broner's weight loss and renewed focus on his career were the keys to his success. He showed that he still possesses all the offensive and defensive tools that made him a star over a decade ago, despite not knocking out Hutchinson. Broner's beautiful shots to the head and body were too much for Hutchinson, particularly in the first five rounds, where AB was hurting him with hard shots to the midsection.
Broner took his foot off the accelerator in the second half after hurting his right hand, forcing him to lighten up on his shots. The judges' scores were 100-90, 99-91, and 99-91 in favor of Broner.
After the fight, the 33-year-old boxer called out all the champions at 140, stating that he's ready for any of them. AB wants the winner of Saturday night's fight between WBO light welterweight champion Josh Taylor and Teofimo Lopez. However, Broner needs to lose a little more weight to get down to 140 because this fight was at welterweight. If not one of the champions, Broner's promoter Don King will find him someone good that he can use to sharpen up while he waits for an eventual title shot.
In an interview after the fight, Don King praised Broner, saying he's ready for anybody, no matter who it is. He also revealed that AB hurt his hand in the fifth round, but he managed to make the weight when nobody thought he would and then went on to win the fight. Overall, it was a great fight, and Broner's victory showed the world that he's still a force to be reckoned with, even after two years out of the ring.
